Man hit by a taxi on Balmoral Street on Saturday morning

UPDATED

One person was injured early Saturday morning after being hit by a Unicity Taxi around 1:00 am, May 28, 2022, On Balmoral Street just north of Sargent Avenue.

In a video posted to social media, a second person was seen laying on the roadway immediately following the collision. That person was helped up by a bystander and did not appear to be seriously injured. They wandered off before police arrived.

When police arrived officers immediately began providing emergency first aid on the adult male victim while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

The male was taken to hospital in unstable condition but later upgraded to stable

Police blocked Balmoral in both directions for more than an hour as members of the traffic unit investigated the collision.

A spokesperson for Winnipeg Police Services told News 4 in an email that no charges were laid in the incident.
