A 30-year-old male suspect tried to hide from police by getting up on the roof of the building they were raiding Sunday night, December 22, 2019.
Police say members of the Gangs and Guns Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a building in the 300 block of Qu’Appelle Avenue.
As officers arrived the suspect fled from the suite and took to the roof. Officer’s weren’t fooled though and the suspect was quickly taken into custody.
A search of the apartment located a loaded handgun, mobile phones, cash, packaging materials, a working scale and about $580 worth of cocaine and crack.
Abdelgadr Said Omer has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
Omer was detained in custody.
