Homicide investigation underway after man found lying on Main Street

Winnipeg Police are investigating a homicide after a man found lying on Main Street died from his injuries.

The man was found just after midnight on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Winnipeg Transit drivers blocked the lane that the man was in until police arrived.

The victim has been identified as Neilson Catcheway, age 40 from Winnipeg. Catcheway was taken to hospital by paramedics in critical condition but died shortly afterwards.

Winnipeg Police release information about the assault and hit and run

Police spent most of Wednesday investigating the scene. Investigators say that Catcheway had been assaulted and then hit by a vehicle not related to the assault.

Police are looking to talk to the unknown driver of the vehicle that hit Catheway and left the scene.
