Man fatally injures his dog, smashes out windows and sets shed on fire

A 29-year-old male is facing a number of charges after he allegedly used an axe to smash out the windows of a residence and two parked vehicles, set a shed on fire and fatally injured his dog.

RCMP was called to a home in the RM of St.Clements at 5:50 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, for reports of the man causing mischief. While officers were responding they learned that the suspect had left the scene and returned to his own residence.

When police arrived they found the male standing beside the burning shed. He was arrested without incident.

The man has been charged for his alleged involvement with Injure or Endanger Animal, Mischief over $5,000 and Arson.

He was detained in custody.

RCMP continue to investigate.
