Winnipeg Police Service investigators have arrested a 28-year-old man after a toddler ingested illicit drugs, believed to be fentanyl, on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
According to police the child fell into medical distress after crawling around the floor of a North Point Douglas residence. The residents in the how called 911 and began CPR on the child. When paramedics arrived they transported the victim to hospital in critical condition. It took several doses of Narcan to stabilize the toddler.
The accused is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Cause Bodily Harm by Criminal Negligence. He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code and is prohibited from attending the child’s residence.
