Man exposes himself to a female youth twice, say police

Winkler Police Service has arrested and charged a 36-year-old male in connection to two incidents over the past month where he allegedly exposed himself to the same female.

According to police, on June 22, 2021, a female youth had been walking along Pembina Avenue when the driver of a passing vehicle lifted himself up in hi seat and exposed himself to the girl. The incident was reported to police but they were unable to identify a suspect.

On July 19, the same female reported a second incident. This time she was in the area of Southview drive and Third Street South when she noticed a vehicle stopped at the intersection for a long time. The driver of the vehicle motioned to the girl and began moving forward. As the girl looked into the vehicle she saw the driver was intentionally exposing himself to her.

The girl provided police with a description of the vehicle and they were able to identify a suspect in both incidents.

Police say that they do not believe the suspect and victim know each other

Police have charged the suspect for his alleged involvement with two counts of Exposure to a Person Under the Age of 16 Years.

The suspect was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear in Morden Provincial Court to answer to the charges.
