Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a male in his 20s.

Police were called to the area of  Selkirk Avenue and Parr Street for a report of shots being fired.

When officers arrived they found the male in critical condition suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Police had the area cordoned off as the forensic unit processed the scene and gathered evidence.
