As reported on May 24, 2016 at approximately 12:30 a.m. emergency services personnel attended to a serious motor vehicle collision in the area of Archibald Street and Messier Street involving a single motorcycle.
The 44-year-old male driver was transported to hospital in critical condition and has since succumbed to his injuries.
Although the official cause of the motor vehicle collision has yet to be determined, speed and the lack of a helmet appear to have been contributing factors.
