Man dies in three-vehicle collision on Highway 7

RCMP are investigating a three-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 68-year-old male from Arborg.

Investigators say that they were called to the scene just before noon on August 3, 2021, on Highway 7 south of Provincial Road 236. When they arrived they found a van laying on its side in the ditch. The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say that the van was southbound on Highway 7 when it crossed the centre line and hit the side of a semi-truck that had tried to avoid the collision by moving towards the shoulder of the road. The van hit the side of the semi then hit a pickup truck that was behind the semi.

The driver and passenger in the pickup and the driver of the semi were not injured in the collision.

RCMP continue to investigate.
