Man dies in collision with semi just west of Brandon

RCMP from Blue Hills detachment are investigating a fatal collision between a van and a semi.

It happened just before 11:00 am on Friday, October 20, 2017, on Road 117 West between the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 1A near Kemnay, Manitoba.

The semi was slowing down to turn into a driveway when the van hit it from behind. The driver of the semi was not injured in the collision but the 31-year-old driver of the van died at the scene.

RCMP do not believe that alcohol or seatbelts were factors in the collision

The investigation continues.
