Winnipeg Police are investigating the death of a man who was spotted on the tracks north of Wilkes Avenue and west of Shaftesbury Boulevard Friday morning, September 28, 2018.
Police say they were called by an engineer of a passing train who noticed an injured man on the rail line. The train was stopped blocking several crossings as officers investigated.
The injured man was in his 30s and taken to hospital in critical condition but he died shortly afterwards.
Police do not know how the man was injured but they say they don’t believe that the incident is criminal in nature.
The Traffic Division is continuing to investigate.
