Witnesses reported sounds of man screaming
Winnipeg Police responded to an apartment building just after 10:00 pm Sunday night, August 13, 2017, after they received reports of a man screaming and sounds of a possible assault.
When police arrived they found a 29-year-old male who was not breathing. The victim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
This marks the 20th homicide of 2017. In 2016 there were 24 homicides within the City of Winnipeg.
Winnipeg’s Homicide Unit is investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information that could help them to call investigators at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477)
