The man alleged to have set a fire at a Charleswood apartment building has been arrested and charged with arson.
Winnipeg police were called to the structure fire after Sheriff’s officers reported they had the male in custody. Sheriff’s officers told police that the male had started the fire inside a suite in the building after having a dispute with them. As the fire spread the suspect escaped through a window. Sheriff’s officers took the man into custody and held him for police.
One person was injured while evacuating the building. They were taken to hospital in stable condition.
Nathan Michael Carrol (47) of Winnipeg was charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Arson Causing Damage to Property
- Possession of Incendiary Material
- Possession of a Weapon
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Carrol was detained in custody.
