RCMP in Selkirk are investigating after receiving reports of a home invasion at a residence on Cil Road in the RM of St. Clements.
Police say that as the caller was on the line with the 911 operator, the operator heard a voice demanding car keys as the call was dropped.
The 73-year-old female victim told police the lone suspect entered her home with a knife, demanded her car keys and Feld the scene with the vehicle.
Officers found an vehicle abandoned nearby and were able to track the suspect and stolen vehicle to a business in the RM of St Paul.
43-year-old Blake Andrew Morris from Winnipeg was arrested is facing a number of charges for his alleged involvement including Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon, Robbery with a Weapon and Mischief over $5000.00.
He is scheduled to appear in a Selkirk courtroom on August 26, 2022.
