39-year-old Ernest Anderson Ballantyne has been charged in connection with the assault of a 47-year-old woman at the intersection of Main Street and James Avenue.
Police say that around 8:00 pm on Friday, March 10, 2023, the victim was approached by the accused and was assaulted without provocation. During the assault the victim fell to the ground, hitting her head on the concrete. The assailant continued to attack the woman until a bystander intervened. The accused fled on foot before police arrived but with help from other units including Air1 he was quickly located and placed in custody.
Ballantyne has been charged for his alleged involvement with Assault and detained in custody.
