Police in Winnipeg have arrested and charged a 23-year-old man in connection to the November 5, 2023, Portage Avenue shooting that left 27-year-old Lawrence Evan Pruden dead and another 30-year-old man with gunshot-related injuries. The victims were shot as they left an establishment in the 1800 block of Portage Avenne around 1:00 am. The suspects fled in a vehicle say police.
Nathaniel Gatehouse-Gilchrist, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder and Attempt to Commit Murder. He was detained in custody.
Investigators have also identified a second suspect in the case who is wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempt to Commit Murder.
21-year-old Bryce William Walker is described as about 5’5″ tall weighing 140 pounds. Police warn that Walker should not be approached as he may be armed.
