Winnipeg Police Service has arrested and charged a 30-year-old man for allegedly damaging a number of gas lines in the Centennial and South Point Douglas areas.
Police say that between mid February and March 13, 2024, a number of businesses had their external gas lines extensively damaged. The damage was potentially life-threatening for the employees of the businesses and the surrounding area.
Damage costs are estimated to be $10,000 and have already been repaired by Manitoba Hydro.
Justin Ryan Hastings has been charged for his alleged involvement with seven counts of Mischief Endagering Life, Break & Enter with Intent-Place and Possession of Break-in Instruments.
Hastings was detained in custody.
