Winnipeg police have arrested 36 year old Darcy Stirling for stabbing a female victim in the upper body on January 24, 2017.

The assault happened around 6:30 pm on Sherburn Street and the assault resulted in the woman being taken to hospital in critical condition.

WOMAN STABLE IN HOSPITAL AFTER BEING STABBED

The suspect fled before police arrived.

The suspect continued his criminal activities and at about 8:30 pm he broke into a home on Buchannan Boulevard where he found keys and stole a vehicle.

Investigators caught up with the suspect on January 26, 2017 and charge Stirling with, Aggravated Assault,Possess Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Break and Enter, Drive Prohibited
   
Stirling was detained in custody.
