Man busted after attempting to rob two people at knifepoint in Central Park

A 32-year old male who allegedly tried to rob two people at knifepoint is in custody and facing robbery, weapon and threat charges.

It happened Tuesday afternoon, July 24, 2018, in Central Park.

Police say that the man first approach a 65 -year-old woman who was sitting on a park bench, pulled a knife and demanded money. Not getting any cash the suspect then moved on to a 38-year-old male and again pulled a knife demanding money.

The male victim ran away and reported the crime to foot patrol officers in the area.

Justin Kenneth Monan was pursued by officers and was captured near Edmonton Street and Ellice Avenue.
