RCMP in Portage la Prairie are investigating a snowmobile crash in Delta, Manitoba that happened on Sunday night, January 31, 2021.
The 40-year-old snowmobiler was suspended from driving motor vehicles. He was travelling westbound on Lake Manitoba when the snowmobile became airborne after hitting a snowdrift. The driver lost control when the machine landed and rolled and was thrown from it.
The driver suffered very serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital.
Police say they believe alcohol may have played a factor in the collision. The driver was wearing a helmet but it came off at the time of the crash.
RCMP continue to investigate.
