Winnipeg police are investigating a robbery that sent one victim to hospital on Saturday morning, August 6, 2022.

According to police they were called to a Stella Avenue home for the report of a man who had been stabbed during a robbery.

Officers found the injured 48-year-old male and provided emergency medical care that included the use of a chest seal. The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

Investigators believe the man had been in the 300 block of Blake Street when he was approached by an unknown male suspect who was armed with a machete. The suspect robbed the victim, taking his bike and personal property. Before fleeing the victim was then hit with the machete.
