A 20-year-old male was taken to hospital in unstable condition after he was attacked with a battery powered drill on Sunday, February 10, 2019 around 1:00 am.

Police say the victim was sleeping in his apartment suite on Dufferin Avenue when four suspects forced their way into his suite and began attacking him. One of the suspects pulled out a drill and attacked the victim with it. The victim was able to deflect the attack but the suspect continued a second time and the victim suffered a serious injury to his upper body.

The suspects then ransacked the apartment and stole several items.

Officers located two suspects in the building and placed them into custody.

Richard Thomas Poynting, 32 and Connie Miscel Williams, 31 are facing Break Enter and Commit Robbery as well as Aggravated Assault charges for their alleged involvement in the home invasion.

Two other suspects have yet to be apprehended.
