A-73-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly attacked a 36-year-old man with bear spray and a chain saw on Monday, August 28, 2023.
The incident happened in Somerset, Manitoba around 1:25 pm. According to police the accused broke into the home of someone he knew and assaulted the resident with bear spray and chainsaw before fleeing.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was arrested a short time later. Police seized a mini electric chainsaw.
Frank Solcan had been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Breaking and Entering and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
