Assault LIVE-STREAMED over social media
On Saturday, April 1, 2017 Winnipeg Police were called after a witness saw a live-stream on a popular social media network of a man being assaulted.
Police identified the location arrived at the downtown home around 1:30 am Sunday morning. When they arrived they found the victim had been physically assaulted, stabbed several times and robbed of his wallet and car keys.
The 22 year old victim had arranged to meet a female at the home on Saturday after meeting her on an on-line dating site.
The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition but was later upgraded to stable.
Police arrested three suspects at the scene of the assault.
An 18-year-old male from Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery
- Extortion
- Possession of a Weapon
- Forcible Confinement
- Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
- And a number of related offences
A 44-year-old female from Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Forcible Confinement
- Possession of a Weapon
- Robbery
- Extortion
- Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
A 17-year-old female of Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery
- Extortion
- Possession of a Weapon
- Forcible Confinement
- Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
- And a number of related offences
