On January 27, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 1900 block of Main Street.
With the help of the Tactical Support Team (TST) and the North District Community Support Unit, officers located the suspect a short distance away and took him into custody without incident. Upon searching the suspect, officers discovered an unloaded, replica airsoft gun.
The investigation revealed that the suspect had been loitering at a nearby restaurant when approached by staff. As he was being asked to leave, a staff member noticed a firearm protruding from the suspect’s jacket and contacted the police. The suspect then exited the establishment without causing any further disturbance.
A 27-year-old male from Winnipeg has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition. He was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
