Saturday June 24, 2017 around 7:00 pm Winnipeg Police Community Support Unit officers found a man who was wanted on an arrest warrant in the 100 block of Isabel Street. As he was being arrested police discovered a sawed off rifle concealed on him.
27 year old Stephen Michael Toews from Winnipeg was charged for his alleged offences with:
- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3)
- Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Handle Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply Probation Order
- Warrant (Fail to Comply Probation Order)
Toews was held in custody.
