Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) has arrested a 28-year-old male suspect in connection to a shooting on Yellowquill Trail on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

A driver and passenger were driving westbound on Yellowquill Trail when they passed a truck heading in the opposite direction. As the truck passed the occupants shot at the westbound vehicle hitting the driver.

]MFNPS identified a suspect and went to a residence in Portage la Prairie on Thursday, March 23 to make an arrest.

Theron Meeches has been charged for his alleged involvement with two counst of Discharge firearm with intent, Aggravated Assault, Unauthorized possession of a firearm. Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle.
