Man arrested for pulling hospital fire alarms

RCMP in Swan River have arrested a 25-year-old male after he allegedly pulled a number of fire alarms at the local hospital.

Just after 8:00 pm on Monday, March 8, 2021, officers were called to the hospital where they found the suspect in the lobby area. He was immediately arrested for mischief and taken to a police patrol unit. As officers were attempting to place the suspect in the vehicle he became combative. Eventually officers were able to force the suspect into their car.

Once at the detachment it was learned the the suspect had also allegedly entered one of the rooms in the hospital and damaged the ceiling while gaining access to it.

The suspect from Brandon was charged for his alleged involvement with Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, two counts of Mischief under $5,000 and Activating a False Fire Alarm.
