Man Arrested for Attacking Gas Tanks

On the night of August 5, 2024, at approximately 11:25 pm, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP responded to a report of an unknown male attacking large gas tanks in Ebb and Flow First Nation with a pickaxe. These tanks are crucial as they supply fuel to the community. Fortunately, upon inspection, no spillage was detected.

RCMP officers swiftly arrived at the scene and found a 32-year-old male from the community walking along Highway 278, still armed with the pickaxe. The man was taken into custody, and the pickaxe was confiscated. During a search, officers discovered a razor blade concealed in the man’s mouth.

The individual is now facing charges of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Mischief. He has since been released from custody.
