Man Arrested After Replica Firearm and Knife Seized

A 24-year-old Winnipeg man is facing charges after police seized a replica handgun and a knife in the William Whyte neighbourhood on Thursday evening.

On March 27, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., North District General Patrol officers were conducting routine patrols in the area. According to a Winnipeg Police Service media release, officers observed a male crossing the street near the intersection of Salter Street and Manitoba Avenue carrying a bag. Officers noticed what appeared to be the butt end of a black handgun protruding from within the bag.

Police initiated an investigation and approached the male, arresting him without incident. A subsequent search of the individual resulted in the seizure of a replica Glock 19 CO2 firearm and a knife.

The 24-year-old male, whose name has not been released, has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Weapon.

In accordance with the Criminal Code, he was released on an Appearance Notice and will appear in court at a later date.
