Man arrested after firing shotgun into home

Manitoba First Nations Police Service responded to a home on Sandy Bay First Nation after receiving reports that gunshots had been fired.

When officers arrived on scene witnesses to the incident said they watched a male fire several rounds from a shotgun into a residence before leaving.

A male inside the home received minor injuries from the shotgun pellets. He declined medical treatment.

Officers located the male suspect at a home on the First Nation and took him into custody.

33-year-old Edward Levasseur has been charged for his alleged involvement with Discharge Firearm while Being Reckless, Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm/Prohibited Weapon when knowing possession is Unauthorized.

Levasseur was detained in custody.
