Winnipeg Police Service have arrested a 21-year-old male and a 30-year-old female after they allegedly stole a taxi on Sunday morning, March 19, 2023.

According to police, the suspects were riding in the cab when they became aggressive towards the driver. When they reached their destination the cabbie as the pair to exit the vehicle. The suspects got out of the taxi and then pulled the driver out at knifepoint. The suspect got back into the cab as the victim fled.

Police caught the suspects in the vehicle as they were attempting to flee. As officers were arresting the suspects the female assaulted both officers and threatened to kill them.

Neither officer nor the  26-year-old cab driver was injured in the incident.

The 21-year-old male has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery. The 30-year-old female has been charged for her alleged involvement with Robbery, Two counts of Assault a Peace Officer and two counts of Uttering Threats Cause Death of Bodily Harm
