Suspect fired shotgun
Winnipeg Police are having a difficult time talking to a shooting victim.
Early Sunday morning, August 13, 2017, Just after 2:30 am Winnipeg Police responded to a call about a man who was injured in the area of Salter Street and Redwood Avenue.
When officers arrived they found a 28-year-old man had been shot in the upper back, head and parts of his face with a shotgun.
The victim was taken in unstable condition to the hospital by paramedics. He was stabilized, treated and released.
Police say that due to the bandages the victim is wearing he is having a difficult time communicating with investigators.
Public Information Officer Tammy Skrabek told reporters that at this time they have no suspects in the case and are looking for witnesses to help shed light on the incident.
With several shootings happening in the past week police have said that most of the shootings they are seeing are related to gang and criminal activity.
“The average person wandering the streets I don’t think you need to be concerned about being in a confrontation with a firearm,” said Skrabek “That doesn’t mean that there isn’t the potential for an innocent person to be caught in the crossfire at some point.”
