Male stabbed, suspect arrested and charged

A 35-year-old Winnipeg man is facing charges after an incident in the 500 block of Hethrington Avenue early this morning.

Police say that around 4:00 am on October 27, 2021, a male woke up and watched the accused damage property within a shared residence. Then the male confronted the accused who also lived in the home he was assaulted with a weapon. The suspect then fled the home and damaged a vehicle outside.

When police arrived on the scene they found the victim in his 30s suffering a stab wound. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition but later upgraded to stable.

The suspect was tracked by a K-9 unit and located a short distance away. He was taken into custody.

Police say the accused has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Mischief Under $5,000, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order and detained in custody.
