Suspect was driving 4 door older model brown or tan car

A scary situation happened Tuesday May 9, 2017 in Steinbach according to RCMP.

A 9 year old girl living on Maplewood Street  was approached by a man in his 40’s or 50’s who attempted to convince her to come with him.

It happened around 4:00pm after the girl got home from school. Police believe that the girl was followed to her home by the man as she left Elmdale School. 

The man stood in her yard and tried to convince the youth to unlock the doors and go with him. It is believed that the man was also taking picture of the girl with a red digital camera.

The man is described as stocky with grey/brown hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt, jeans and black shoes. He was driving an older model brown or tan four door car.

Police are asking for help in locating the suspect.
