Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit is investigating after general patrol officers found an injured male just over the crest of the Slaw Rebchuk Bridge in the northbound lane.

Officers provided the male emergency medical care until paramedics arrived. He was transported to hospital in critical condition. Police have not released any information as to the type of injuries or the age of the male
The male was found around 10:30 pm and police quickly closed the bridge in both directions until they had completed their investigation on the scene.
Officers removed a bicycle from the bridge and were seen searching the north side embankment close to the scene.
Investigators are asking anyone travelling on the bridge before the incident who may have information or dash-cam footage to contact them at (204) 986-6219.
