A 32-year-old male is facing charges related to assault after an incident that began on Saturday afternoon, January 9, 2021.
Police were called to check on the wellbeing of a female just before 1:15 pm at a home in the 200 block of Jamieson Avenue.
Police say that when officers arrived at the residence the female came out and they determined she had been assaulted by a male inside the suite.
The male refuses to leave the suite and officers believed he was wearing body armour and had a number of knives.
The Tactical Support Team and the Crisis Negotiation Unit arrived and attempts were made to de-escalate the situation.
The 32-year-old male was safely taken into custody around 7:05 pm. Police are not releasing his identity to protect the identity of the victim.
