An adult male cyclist has lost his life after being involved in a collision with a front-end loader near Mission Street and Plinquet Street.
Police say the incident happened around 10:20 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Two off-duty Winnipeg Police Service officers came across the collision moments after it happened. The cyclist suffered serious injuries, the officers immediately provided emergency medical care while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
On-duty police officers and members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service soon arrived on the scene and the cyclist was pronounced deceased.
Police believe the front-end loader was clearing snow at the time of the collision. The driver of the front-end loader remained at the scene and spoke with investigators.
