Male breaks into an apartment and sexually assults female

Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit is investigating a Tuesday morning, August 4, 2020, sexual assault in a Furby Street apartment.

Police say a male suspect entered the victims suite through an unlocked fire escape door. He sexually assaulted the adult female who lived there.

The victim fought off her attacker and called police once the suspect had fled. She was taken to hospital, treated and released, say police.

Investigators are looking for an Indigenous male between 25 to 30 years of age. He stands 5’7″ tall with a stock build and short black hair. He was wearing a blue or grey shirt, beige shorts, black shoes and had a blue surgical mask on. He was also carrying a black backpack.
