On Sunday, May 8, 2022, around 1:00 am police responded to the 500 block of Portage Avenue for the report of an injured male.
According to police the male in his 30s was sitting on the steps of a closed business using his electronic device when two males and a female he did not know approached him. One of the group was armed with a machete.
The male was assaulted and robbed before the suspects fled on foot.
The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
