Winnipeg Police Service has arrested and charged a 21-year-old man in connection to an assault on a 19-year-old male.

Police say that on the evening of May 24, 2023, the victim and suspect were having a heated discussion while walking along Ellice Avenue near Ferry Road when the suspect began assaulting the victim as they continued to walk. As the victim was assaulted he was rendered unconscious and robbed. Several people intervened to stop the assault and hold the suspect until officers arrived.

The suspect has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault and Robbery. He was detained in custody.
