Male arrested in connection to 14 arsons over the May long weekend

Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old male in connection to 14 separate arsons over the Victoria Day long weekend

The arson spree began on Saturday afternoon, May 16 in the 400 block of Aulneau Street. Later that same day a fire was set in a shed at St. Boniface Hospital.

The fires continued on Sunday evening May 17 with fires on Leila Avenue and Main Street. As night turned into morning more fires were set on May 18, on Litz Place, Munroe Avenue, Main Street (x2), Poplar Avenue, Seven Oaks Avenue, Hanna Street, Southall Drive, Selkirk Avenue and Prichard Avenue.

Robert Alan Ingram has been charged for his alleged involvement with three counts of Arson Disregard for Human Life, 18 counts of Arson Damage to Property, 14 counts of Possession of Incendiary Material, Possession of Incendiary Device, Possess Weapon, Possess Methamphetamine.

He was detained in custody.
