Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) have arrested a 28-year-old male in connection to a serious assault on Waywayseecappo First Nation.
Police say the suspect attacked his ex-girlfriend after breaking into her home through a window. The victim described the suspect as extremely intoxicated and in possession of a knife.
Officers located the accused and took him into custody. The suspect has been charged for his alleged involvement with Assault, Two counts of Assault with a weapon, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Overcoming Resistance –Choking, Mischief under $5000 and four counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
The suspect was detained in custody.
