Winnipeg Police have a 25-year-old male in custody after a three-and-a-half-hour standoff with officers.
Police were called to a home in the 700 block of Selkirk Avenue around 7:16 am on Friday July 10, 2020, for the report of an armed male inside the residence.
When police arrived two females were able to flee the home while the male remained inside. One of the females turned a firearm over to officers.

The standoff continued as the suspect refused to comply with police orders to surrender.
Just before 11:00 am the male was taken into custody by officers.
The suspect is facing charges for his alleged involvement including two counts of Pointing a Firearm, four counts of Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order, Possession of a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and four counts of Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order.
The suspect remains in custody.
