A 24-year-old male is facing charges after he allegedly smashed out a Winnipeg Transit bus window on Thursday afternoon, December 9, 2021.
Police say the incident happened around 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021, near Selkirk Avenue and Sgt Tommy Prince Street after the male was denied entry to the bus for not wearing a mask. The suspect then used an axe to smash out the window before fleeing the area.
The suspect was located by officers soon afterwards in the 200 block of Prichard Avenue and took him into custody. Police believe the the suspect was also responsible for an unrelated incident in November where a vehicle was damaged.
Franklin, John, Junior Bittern of Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Weapon, two counts of Mischief Under $5,000, four counts of Fail to Comply with Conditions of Release Order and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
He was detained in custody.
