Portage la Prairie, MB – A significant theft occurred at a business on Sissons Drive in Portage la Prairie, with over $70,000 worth of Apple iPhones stolen. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are investigating the incident, which took place on the night of March 9, 2024, and was reported the following morning.
Three adults, two males and a female, are believed to be involved in the theft. The suspects entered the business and made their way to the electronics section. While the female suspect distracted an employee, the two male suspects broke into a locked cabinet and made off with approximately 60 Apple iPhones. The entire incident unfolded within minutes.
The RCMP believes this theft is connected to three similar incidents that occurred within the last month in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Brooks, Alberta, and Medicine Hat, Alberta.
The suspects have been described as follows:
- Suspect 1: A male in his 30s, wearing a white jacket and a blue ballcap.
- Suspect 2: A male in his 30s, wearing a black and white baseball cap.
- Suspect 3: A female in her 30s, wearing a long white jacket.
