Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire call in the 700 block of Stella Avenue late Friday night, December 14, 2018.
The story and a half home was well involved when fire crews arrived just after 11:00 pm to the north end blaze.
Flames could be seen shooting out of the building as an aerial ladder truck attacked the fire from above.
Crews were forced to launch a defensive attack due to unsafe conditions within the structure.
No one was in the home at the time of the fire say city officials.
No reports of injuries or estimates of damage but the building did suffer significant damage.
The fire is under investigation.
