Major busts net close to 70 kilograms of drugs, seven people arrested

Winnipeg Police Service has taken nearly 70 kilograms of illegal drugs off the streets after a two-month investigation by the Guns & Gangs Unit and the Drug Enforcement Unit into the trafficking of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

On July 27, 2023 a search warrant was executed by the Guns & Gangs Unit and the Tactical Support Team at a Sherburn Street residence and officers seized:

  • Approximately 28 kilograms of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value = $1,400,000)
  • Approximately 2.7 kilograms of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $270,000)
  • Approximately 5.7 kilograms of Cannabis (Estimated Street Value = $20,000)
  • Approximately 4.2 kilograms of Edibles (Estimated Street Value = $63,000 )
  • Approximately 18 kilograms of Cannabis ‘Shake’
  • Packaging material for Edibles
  • Moulds for Edibles
  • Taser

57-year-old Denis Michael Joseph Dostie of Stornoway, Quebec and 46-year-old Tracy Lyons of Winnipeg were arrested at the residence and charged for their alleged involvement withmultiple drug trafficking, drug production, and weapons-related charges. Both were detained in custody.

Additional search warrants were executed on the same day at residences on Qu’Appelle Avenue and Cumberland Avenue as part of the Drug Enforcement Unit investigation. Four men and a woman were arrested.

Police seized the following:

  • A loaded 9mm Glock Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
  • A loaded 3D-Printed 9mm Polymer Firearm without a Serial Number
  • 9 mm Ammunition
  • Approximately 3 ounces of Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value = $34,000)
  • Approximately 6.7 kilograms of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value = $335,000)
  • Approximately 2.6 kilograms of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $266,000)
  • Approximately 1 ounce of Crack Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $2,200)
  • Digital Scales
  • Cellular phones
  • Packaging Materials

Robert Trevor Lander (47), Mohamed Hussein Keisar (47), Guled Ali Omar Mohamed (33), Abdurahzak Mohammed Isse (33), and Joanna Lesley Rennicks (53), all of Winnipeg, have been charged for their alleged involvement with multiple trafficking, proceeds of crime, and firearms-related offences.

All of the accused weredetained in custody.

The investigation continues.
