Winnipeg Police patrolling in the 1300 block of Main Street Thursday night, August 3, 2017, encountered a man with a gun on the street just after 10:30 pm.
The male wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, ran into a nearby apartment building.
Police closed Main Street between Anderson and Bannerman Avenues to traffic.
At about 7:00 am officers resolved the situation and took the man into custody. He has been charged with a number of weapons related offences.
According to police officials, no one was injured during the incident.
The investigation is continuing.
