Winnipeg Police have arrested the man they say is responsible for a brutal attack on a female victim in the early morning hours of February 24, 2018.
The attack happened near Magnus Avenue and Chudley Street. Police say a woman was repeatedly struck with a machete. As she fell to the ground she was kicked in the head and upper body. The attacker also hit her again with the machete.

On April 11, 2018, Vincent Rupert Thompson, 29 from Winnipeg was arrested and charged for the attack
Thompson is facing a number of charges for his alleged involvement including Aggravated Assault, Uttering Threats, Intimidation and Possess Weapon.
He has been remanded into custody.
